So, if you stand before someone and just try to speak in a flat monotone voice - something like what Ben Stein did in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"; you are going to have the same affect on your audience as he did on his students. So, how to liven them up? Step one, figure out what sort of audience you are going to be speaking to. After all, if you talk to a bunch of senior citizens, they are quite a different group to some high school seniors. For that matter, highly gifted students are quite different from a group of "special needs" students. So, you must tailor your talk to your audience. Also, speaking to a group is different to speaking to an individual.
Getting people to pay attention to what you say: ah, now that is a challenge every school teacher, advertiser,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and director of marketing has been trying to figure out since the dawn of time. Anyone who has ever been in a position of authority will realize this can be difficult. So, if you are faced with this problem, what are some of the methods you can use to defeat the poor attention span of your audience?
If you are trying to get someone to a reprimand or a Warning, avoid being confrontational. Appreciate your Audience’s point of view.
Next, look for ways to relate what you are talking about to what is important in their lives. Let us take the example of the high school students. You want to talk to them about the importance of learning to write. Oh, can't you just see their eyes rolling back in their heads as you try to sell them on that? If at all possible,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], have some sort of audio/visual presentation. These days, just about anyone can do a PowerPoint presentation. So, make use of that. A few jokes, at the right places of your speech can help to keep your audience focused on you. If you’re an entertaining and interesting speaker, people will be more likely to listen to you throughout what you have to say.
There is also the issue of the time and place of your talk. If you give your speech early in the morning or late in the day, people might be tired. If the room you are in is very hot or cold, your audience will be uncomfortable and not inclined to listen to you. She looked absolutely alive with joy! Ray was watching her with admiration too. He wanted to be off his leash and able to run the neighborhood free with her. He would pull the leash and look back at me like, "Why do I have to be on a leash? This isn't fair!"

Inspiration to write always strikes me at the most unique times. I never come up with articles during the time that I've set aside for creative writing. It's during the moments when I am quiet and fully enjoying myself that topics leap out to me. This happened figuratively and literally this morning.

Ray was happily panting and working his chubby little legs as fast as he could, when two stray dogs leaped from the brush and greeted us with long tongues and wagging tails. We know them. They roam the lake and like to walk with us when we are around.

I decided to let Ray off of his leash for a short time in a secluded area, and watched him run and play and smile from ear to ear. He and the stray played and romped and chased a few geese together. One, a pampered pooch from a breeder in Seattle, the other, a skinny and rough stray dog from Kentucky. No real differences within. They both are happy and energetic dogs with the desire to have fun. Ray returned to his leash for the rest of the walk,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and his step was a little peppier.
Like my weight challenged beagle, many of us are on a tight leash. It reminded me of how we often look at life and profess to being "tied down" in some way or another. We are "leashed" by money, or what "everyone" thinks,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or by values/ideals that we are "supposed" to uphold, that we miss the basics to true happiness. We become stressed out,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], irritable and enraged by our self inflicted prisons.

If you find your mind dictating how things "should" be, realize that your acceptance does not mean they have to stay this way - accepting and allowing the present moment to be as it is will free up tremendous energy to give to inspired actions on making the necessary changes to improve your situation.
- when "watching the thinker" it is crucial to remain detached from the thoughts that you're watching. Being there as the observer is enough to loosen the mental grip of identifying with the thinker and will begin to create space for Presence.

It's freedom from the delusional belief that you are your mind. And freedom from creating the future in the mold of the past.
