Presidential Newspaper Endorsements
Presidential Newspaper Endorsements are sought after by candidates. The University of California, Santa Barbara compiled a list of the top 100 newspapers by circulation and document the presidential endorsements.
Out of the newspapers, nine did not endorse a candidate at all for the 2008 election cycle and have not (yet, if at all) endorsed a candidate for 2012.
In 2008, 34 newspapers endorsed Obama that have not yet endorsed a candidate for 2012. In 2008, 13 newspapers endorsed McCain in 2008 and have not yet endorsed a candidate for 2012.
Currently, presidential candidate Mitt Romney has 18 endorsements, while 20 newspapers endorse President Obama. This is striking, as the decidedly leftwing media seems to be inching to the right, at least in terms of endorsements. Of course, as mentioned above, there are still 47 newspapers that have not yet endorsed a candidate. They may do so in the next week or so. That is in stark contrast to the 20 current endorsements for Obama.
Out of the 20 newspaper endorsements for President Obama, 19 also endorsed him for 2008. The San Antonio Express News was the one newspaper that switched from endorsing McCain in 2008 to endorsing President Obama in 2012.
This, in contrast to the 7 newspapers that switched from endorsing Obama in 2008 to now endorsing Governor Romney. The newspapers that switched are the PressTelegram (Los Angeles County, CA), the Daily News (Los Angeles), The Tennessean (Nashville), the SunSentinel (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), the Orlando Sentinel, the StarTelegram (Fort Worth, TX), and the Houston Chronicle.
The Daily News lamented the partisanship, they write:
"It is precisely this kind of partisan divide that Obama promised to end. He was going to make history not only as the United States' first black president but as its healer, vowing to lead the nation into a new era of cooperation. But that promise to blend blue America and red America into purple America is an example of Obama's failure of leadership."
The Orlando Sentinel says, "Economic growth, three years into the recovery, is anemic. Family incomes are down, poverty is up."
Again, in 2008, 10 newspapers endorsed candidates after this late date and there is no saying what can happen. They don't like successful businesses. They hate success. It's a jealous nation.
The French don't like anything, they don't like the British, they don't like Americans, they absolutely loath the English yes their is a difference , they loath any food other than their own, they have a President who when he came into office decided to cut his yearly salary making him look all goody to his people, the silly French soon found out why he cut his salary because as soon as he could he raised the tax to 75% for people who earned over a certain amount and that certain amount included what he would have been earning as President which would have left him earning peanuts as a President. So that cut in his salary which by the way was just on the nose was done in the interest of him losing as little money as possible. They still don't realize what they have done electing this socialist President.
I love France my ancestors came from there, no wonder they looked over the channel and saw a far more sensible country and invaded England. France is a good country messed up by the people who live there always has been always will be and again their loss will be our gain as all the nice fat rich people who have businesses in France are making their way over the channel and settling in London, buying large homes contributing to my country's economy every day starting businesses that will employ British people and all thanks to a British hating hating socialist French President.
So if Obama the coward and socialist communist President gets elected again which I very much doubt he will, any rich American or even American with good ideas will always be welcome In Britain I am sure we will make a good partnership.
Graham! Ohhh it would be tempting to come to England. ;) I was just looking at photos from my last visit. I'll tell you what, if you will come help me save Warren Weinstein first, I will come stay in England! I have some ridiculously wealthy friends, (Obama supporters, how??) but I can bring them with me!Here in Belgium, cheap louis vuitton, more than a tenth of Uccle's population is French. When Arnault, whose LVMH empire includes Louis Vuitton and Bulgari, confirmed his intention to seek dual FrenchBelgian citizenship, one of France's leading papers splashed the headline "Get lost, rich jerk!" on its front page.
